What I liked about it:
Edinburgh Gardens, one of Yarra’s largest parks, covers 24 hectares in the heart of North Fitzroy. The park offers vast open lawns, majestic specimen trees, and shady spots, all connected by a network of paths.
Edinburgh Gardens is conveniently close to Rushall train station and Brunswick Street trams, and it’s easily accessible on foot or by bike thanks to its proximity to the Capital City Trail. About half of Edinburgh Gardens is designated as a dog off-leash area, but please note: Dogs are not allowed on W.T. Peterson Oval. Dogs are only allowed off-leash in unfenced sporting grounds when they’re not being used for approved sport (including training).
Dogs must be on leash within 10 metres of playgrounds and sporting grounds when they’re in use for approved sporting events (including training).

What I liked about it:
Darwin Lakeside Drive Dog Park Alawa is a well-thought-out, dog-friendly space. I really appreciated that there are separate areas for big and small dogs — it makes visits more relaxed and safe for everyone.
The whole park is well maintained, and you can tell the council puts effort into keeping it clean and functional. Dog waste bags are available, and there are water troughs to keep the pups hydrated after a good run.
It’s also in a great location, easy to get to and nicely laid out. The only downside is the lack of shade, so it’s best to visit in the early morning or late afternoon, especially during warmer months.
Overall, Darwin Lakeside Drive Dog Park Alawa is a fantastic spot for dogs to burn off energy and socialise safely.

What I liked about it:
Kalinga Dog Park has become a favourite for both me and my dog. It’s one of those places that just feels easy. The dogs are friendly, the owners are lovely, and the space is wide open — perfect for pups to stretch their legs.
We usually spend time in the big dog area, which always has a great vibe. It’s ideal for a game of fetch, and I really appreciate the stocked poop bags (lifesaver!).
Evening visits are easy thanks to the lights that switch on after dark. This is especially helpful during warmer months when it’s cooler to walk later.
Beyond the dog zone, the park is well maintained. There are walking paths, playgrounds, and plenty of shady spots to sit and relax.
Whether you’re heading out for a run or a slow stroll, it’s a top spot. Dogs can explore, play, and just enjoy being dogs.

Dianella Dog Park is a fully enclosed, off-leash dog park in the northern Perth suburb of Dianella. The park features two separately fenced areas – one for small dogs and one for larger dogs. There is a secure double-gated entry, lots of grassy space, and even some sandy areas for digging. Parking for the dog park is easily accessible, and inside the park three are benches where owners can sit to supervise their dogs.

What I liked about it:
Barracluff Park is one of North Bondi’s largest and most loved green spaces, nestled in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. A favourite among local residents, the park is especially popular with dog owners thanks to its generous off-leash areas – often described as a “dog heaven” where you’re likely to find a free tennis ball or two lying around.
The recently upgraded District-level playground has made Barracluff Park a destination in its own right, attracting families from across the area. It features modern play equipment suited to a variety of ages, conveniently located beside a basketball court for active kids and teens. The park also includes a junior sports field, making it a great spot for weekend games and casual kickarounds.
Clean, spacious, and full of energy, Barracluff Park blends community spirit with practical recreation – perfect for dog walks, playtime, or simply enjoying the outdoors.
